Silvia Pelham

Meet our Host

Silvia Pelham is the host of 9 Arches. She started hosting in 2015 and has never looked back. 
In 2021, during lockdown, to help other hosts through the covid crisis, she was chosen to start the first Airbnb Host Club in Portugal. 
In 2023 she won the award Best Airbnb Host Leader of Portugal at the Airbnb Host Summit in Barcelona. 
In 2025, the Centre of Portugal Airbnb Host Club reached 1,000 hosts.                                                                                             
Her experience in hosting started in the centre of Lisbon, with a studio flat for one person - The Chocolate House.                                                                                
From there she took over a ground floor apartment for seven people with a garden with a lemon tree - The Lemon House.                                                                                                         She then chose to go south to the Algarve and looked after a villa with pool on a private condominium for ten people  - 3 Palms.                                                              And now all her experience has been poured into the old family home in the heart of Portugal and she welcomes fourteen to stay and up to forty to meet.
